Maybe not, but here's food for thought from a recent survey on the lives of Americans.
- More that 50% of American workers question the morality of their organizations' top leaders, and say their managers do not treat them fairly.
- Only 29% believe management cares about advancing employee skills.
- Less than 15% of workers feel strongly energized by their work.
- 42% are coping with burnout.
Predictable?
American workers want to run away from their work--the overwhelming majority of survey respondents want more paid vacation time.
Is this the ROI of the efficiency/downsizing/outsourcing movements? Or, is bad management to blame?
